The Pastor’s Pen From The Pastor’s Heart

Well here we are in the second week of the New Year. Please pray for me and Becky as we travel o Israel this week and next. And thanks to those who are house sitting and watching things while we are gone. Thanks to all in our wonderful church family who helped make this trip possible.  Please keep watching our facebook page for updates and photos as I hope to keep a running journal of our trip for anyone interested.

The second thing on my mind is something many will see as negative. Some say we Baptist are always against something or everything. Well, I am not against everything, but I am against sitting still and seeing our values and rights as Christians stripped away from our nation. I AM FOR OUR NATIONAL RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS AS CHRISTIANS AND PATRIOTS!  So I am asking you check out the bulletin board in the down stairs hall going to the fellowship hall. There is information posted there about a boycott of Home Depot!

The Home Depot fired an employee for refusing to remove a “One Nation Under God” patriotic button from his work apron. Trevor Keezor, a Christian, said he wore the button to support his country and his 27-year-old brother, who serves in the military in Iraq.

Dozens of homosexual employees participated in Home Depot-sponsored gay pride parades and festivals. Many employees wore numerous buttons on their aprons promoting homosexuality. The Home Depot defended them by saying homosexual employees will not be prohibited “in any way” when it comes to what they do and wear. The picture here shows employees who decorated their aprons for a Lesbian and Gay Film Festival in Seattle, Washington. Note the company has added the Lesbian Gays Bisexual and Transgender logo stamped on the aprons.

So…if you wear a “One Nation Under God” button, you will be fired. If you wear a “gay” button, you get company praise.

So I am asking you not to stand against something but to stand up for something. Christians are citizens too. This nation was founded on Christian principles. Our forefathers would turn over in their grave if they knew what was being done today in the name of freedom. They would have died to stop such foolishness as the ideas being propagated as constitutional today. Stand for our nation’s military heroes and Christian Principle, boycott Home Depot; Sign the Petition on the bulletin board, and call the local store managers of Morristown and Kingsport.
